The students in Miss Welch's class took science to a new level with their gingerbread science experiment on Wednesday.
The students conducted experiments to determine which liquid changed the gingerbread the most out of vinegar, water, or oil. The students learned that the oil has similar particles to the gingerbread, so it did not break down at all in the oil. However, the gingerbread began to dissolve in the water and vinegar.
The students then related this learning to the story of the Gingerbread Man they have read recently because when the Gingerbread Man reaches the river, he stops.
When asked if the students tasted the gingerbread, Miss Welch quickly replied, "No, they said they were not going to taste that!"
